What we do

Five things we do at the bench

Most machines that come through the door need one of the first two. The rest is repair work, warranty service, and keeping the computerised machines current.

01

Annual Clean & Lube

The yearly service almost every machine should have. We open it up, clear out the lint and thread debris that packs into the hook race and feed dogs, oil and lubricate the moving parts, and sew it off to confirm the stitch is right.

  • Recommended every 12 months
  • Includes a test-sew before it goes back to you
  • Sewing machines, sergers, embroidery machines
02

Clean & Lube with Diagnostic

Everything in the annual service, plus a full inspection: tension, timing, feed, hook clearance, motor and electronics. This is the one to pick if the machine is skipping, jamming, or just hasn’t felt right lately.

  • Full checkup on top of the clean & lube
  • We call you before any repair is authorised
  • Best choice if something feels off
03

Repair

Something is actually broken — a snapped timing belt, a bent needle bar, a burnt-out motor, a bobbin case that has been through the wars. We diagnose it, quote it, and you decide.

  • Diagnosis and quote before work begins
  • All makes and models, not just what we sell
  • Expedited service available for an added fee
04

Software & Firmware Updates

Computerised sewing and embroidery machines get manufacturer updates that fix bugs and add stitch or design capability. Bring the machine in with the make and model and we’ll load what’s available for it.

  • Supported computerised machines
  • Bring make, model and serial number
05

Warranty & the Protection Package

First-year service on a machine you bought from us is handled here. Ask about the Complete Protection Package, which covers your machine 100% for four years.

  • First-year service on machines purchased here
  • Complete Protection Package: 4 years, 100% covered
  • Ask at the counter or call the shop

Maintenance

How often should it be serviced?

Every twelve months, whichever of these sounds like you.

You sew most weeks.
Heavy use packs lint into the hook race and wears the timing out of true. An annual clean and lube keeps the stitch consistent and heads off the breakdown that arrives three days before a deadline.
You sew now and then.
Occasional use is deceptively hard on a machine: oil settles, dust collects, and the first hour back is when things bind. Once a year keeps it ready whenever you are.
It has been in the closet for years.
Inherited or rediscovered machines are usually worth saving. Let us inspect, clean and lubricate it before you plug it in and find out the hard way.

Not sure which one you need?

Pick “Not sure — please advise” on the work order and a technician will tell you after the inspection. Or call and ask.
