Hello, to all our customers! With summer drawing to a close, we look forward to the crisp, invigorating days of fall with its hints of special holidays to come. It’s time for some new projects to decorate our homes and to prepare for gift giving. Stop in to see just-arrived fabrics on display, especially some cozy new flannels. Also, we have some classes on the schedule that might tempt you to try a new design or skill.
New Fabrics
Stop in to see these gorgeous, soft flannel, holiday themed fabrics. They coordinate with each other, and they would make spectacular quilts and wall hangings. Whether you love cardinals, stars, or plaids, there are several different fabrics of this line that should be added to your stash!

Exciting New Class Offering
Beginning in September, Glory Bee’s will be offering a new monthly class that will feature a specific quilt block. Emphasis will be on how to cut and construct the block as well as using it in a project. This class is for experienced and new quilters alike, as some of the more intricate designs will come from quick and easy blocks that are sewn, cut, and re-pieced together. The Four Patch Star Table Runner pictured below is the project for September. It starts as a simple half-square triangle four patch that is magically transformed! Join us to start your quilting journey or to learn some fascinating new techniques.

Service Center Suggestion
Chuck, our Service Center Manager, reminds us that using the correct presser foot is so important in our sewing projects. Even though you may select the type of stitch and adjust the stitch width and length, if you are not using the correct foot, the result may not be what you desired. Glory Bee’s is continuing our sale on presser feet this month. See the sale information below, and stop in to see which feet are available for your particular machine.
Throughout September we are having a sale on presser feet for your Baby Lock, Bernina, Brother, and Janome sewing machine. Buy one to four feet and take 40% off each. Buy five or more and it becomes Buy 3 Get 2 Free, and you always pay whichever of the two is the better deal. Lowest priced items are the free ones. This applies only to the feet we have left in stock, which is a considerable amount, and it runs while stock lasts through September 30. Bernina, Brother, and Janome feet can be bought online; Baby Lock feet are in store only. This is a great opportunity to add some new feet to your collection!

Notion of the Month
This month’s notion is the Clover “Roll and Press”. It is a quick, portable way to press a seam instead of heating up an iron. It will not stretch the fabric, and it has a comfortable ergonomic handle. Mention that you saw this item in The Buzz and receive 10% off the regular price.

Wendy's Tip
Wendy wants us all to remember how important it is to notice right away whether or not the fabric we are using is directional. Sometimes a pattern will mention this in the information, but often it is something that needs to be determined while examining the pieces we are cutting and how they are put together. Take a moment at the beginning of your project to consider if the fabric is suitable and will be featured with the direction of its pattern facing as it should.
September Classes
To have the best possible class experience please make certain you bring the following items with you: your machine and its accessories, top and bobbin thread, small scissors (snips), seam ripper, marking pen or pencil, fabric turner, pins or clips, rotary cutter and cutting ruler, and a notebook for instructions and ideas. Additional items may include special machine accessories, feet, and needles needed for the particular class. Your machine manual may also be helpful, if it is available.

We invite you to see the new fabrics and projects on display in the shop, and we would love to see what quilts, table runners, wall hangings, or novelty projects have kept you busy this summer!
